Why—and How—Riverhouse Hospitality Takes Safety Seriously

At Riverhouse Hospitality, we take a lot of things seriously.

Whether it’s the quality and presentation of Riverhouse Catering’s menu selections, ensuring a memorable wedding experience at our flagship venue The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station, or maintaining the timeless elegance of The Society Room of Hartford, we work hard to provide our customers and guests with the very best.

But the first and foremost priority at any event hosted by Riverhouse Hospitality is always the safety and security of our guests.

That’s more than just a slogan—it’s a commitment. For proof, consider the following:

  • A select group of owners, servers, banquets managers, and chefs on the Riverhouse Hospitality staff have been trained by the American Red Cross in CPR, use of automatic external defibrillators (AEDs), and choking rescue. This means that multiple people will be ready to respond to an emergency at any Riverhouse event.
  • Both The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station and The Society Room of Hartford are now equipped with potentially life-saving AEDs courtesy of the MVS Dragonheart Foundation.
  • In the event of severe weather or other extreme situations, the Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station is equipped with an emergency generator.

Why We Take Safety So Seriously

According to the American Heart Association, there were more than 350,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests in the United States in 2016—with fewer than half of all bystanders in such situations trained in CPR. In 2015, the National Safety Council reports that over 5,000 people died in choking accidents.

In other words, accidents and emergencies happen. Having people prepared to take action saves lives.

No matter if you’re attending a wedding, a holiday banquet, or a corporate seminar, we want your time with Riverhouse Hospitality to be remembered for its excellence, elegance, and professionalism. We’ll go to any length to make sure that’s the case, whether it’s a special accommodation for a guest, or saving a life in an emergency.
